Invisible Condition Identification Symbol
**NEW program — effective October 15, 2022.
This voluntary program allows a symbol “sticker” to be placed on your driver license or identification card upon request. The invisible condition means a physical or mental condition that may interfere with the ability to communicate with a law enforcement officer. For example:
- Communication impediment
- Hearing loss
- Autism spectrum disorder
- Drug allergy
- Alzheimer’s disease or dementia
- Post-traumatic brain injury
- Developmental disability
- Down syndrome
- Heart condition
- Other conditions identified by a healthcare professional
A healthcare professional must complete the invisible condition request form and submit it to the Driver License Division by mail, fax, email, or office location. The division will add the information to your record and provide you with a symbol. The symbol may be removed from your record by completing the removal form.
