Identification Card

Anyone of any age can obtain an identification card.  Although, persons under 16 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign for them.

By law you may not possess more than one REAL ID compliant certificate at a time (e.g., Colorado driver license and a Utah ID.)

DPC (driving privilege card) applicants are not eligible for an identification card.

If you are no longer able to drive due to medical reasons or age, or you wish to permanently surrender your driving privilege, you may be eligible to surrender your Utah driver license for a Utah state identification card free of charge.  You may make an appointment to appear in person at a Driver License office to take a photo and sign the identification card application or if you wish to apply through mail, please contact Customer Service at 801.965.4437 to see if you qualify.
