Do you need your foreign language document translated into English?  Visit our division-approved translator list for a translator in your area.

NOTE:  All translations need to be original, word-for-word translations.  NO extract translations will be accepted.

Fees charged for translation services may vary.  Please be aware neither the Department of Public Safety nor the Driver License Division takes responsibility for services rendered or fees charged.

I Need Assistance With My Written Knowledge Test

Are you applying for your regular or limited-term driver license and need assistance with your written knowledge test?  You have two (2) approved options:

Option 1: In-person interpreting service.
Option 2: An interpreter who is registered with the court must be certified or approved credential level.  The court link will open a list of languages.

How Can I Become an Approved Translator

An approved translator is a person certified by a company, school, religious organization, government agency, or court (Utah only), or is certified by the military and can provide military documentation.

If you are interested in being an approved translator to translate foreign documents into English, you must:

  • Attend a certification program (see list below.)
  • Email your contact information to dltranslator@utah.gov.

Once approved your name will be put on the approved translator list on our website within one (1) week.
