Third-party tester information

What are third-party testers?

  • Third-party testers are companies or individuals the Driver License Division has certified to give the driving skills test.
  • ย Many of them offer testing for a fee.
  • After you finish the test with a third-party tester, they'll send the results to the Driver License Division electronically.

You can't use a third-party tester if

  • You have a Utah driver license and a doctor, another medical professional, or a police officer has asked you to take the driving skills test.
  • The Driver License Division has asked you to do more hours of driver training.

Must use DLD-approved tester

The Driver License Division, under the authority of UCAย 53-3-501ย and Utah Administrative Ruleย R708-2, regulates commercial driving schools.
