Address Change Information

**This page is for informational purposes only and to update your address online.  If you need to schedule an appointment for a license or ID card, return to the previous page you were on, or the Homepage, and select the service (original, renewal, replacement) you need.

Note: Changing your address with the U.S. Postal Service does not update your driver license record.  You must update your address with the Driver License Division.

Regular, Limited-Term, DPC

Eligible to Update Online: Yes
New license/ID Required: No
Requirement: 10 Days within Moving

If you have recently moved to a new address, Utah law requires you to update your address with the Driver License Division within 10 days of moving.  You are only required to update your address online and not required to obtain a new license/ID card.  If you would like to have the new address printed on your license/ID card you would need to apply for a replacement license.  Note: If you update the address online before you schedule your appointment, you won't be required to provide proof of address at your appointment.

Commercial Driver License (CDL)

New License Required: Yes
Requirement: 30 Days within Moving

If you have recently moved to a new address, Federal law requires you to update your address with the Driver License Division within 30 days of moving.  You must schedule an appointment to appear in person to update your address on your driver license.  You will need to bring two documents providing proof of your Utah address.
