PRODUCTION ERRORS
January 7, 2026
The Driver License Division has identified production errors affecting a limited quantity of driver licenses and identification cards printed between December 19, 2025, and December 31, 2025.
The following are the potential production errors you may observe on the license or identification card:
- Omission of the Real ID gold star indicator.
- Inaccurate display of the Veteran designation.
- Incorrect "Under 21 Until" date.
The division is currently in the process of reissuing corrected cards to all impacted individuals.
While awaiting your replacement, please continue to use your temporary license or identification card. You are required to destroy the inaccurate card immediately. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for the corrected card to arrive.
If you have any questions regarding this correction or require further clarification, please contact our customer service at 801.965.4437.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue.
Important Legal Notice: Under Utah law, it is illegal to be in possession of more than one valid driver license or identification card. Failure to destroy the previous document could result in the incorrect version being used or accepted in error, potentially leading to additional issues.
