Document Translator

All foreign documents need to be translated into English and must be original, word-for-word translations. No extract translations will be accepted. Fees charged for translation services may vary. Please be aware that neither the Department of Public Safety nor the Driver License Division takes responsibility for services rendered or fees charged. *Must bring foreign document and translated document to your appointment.

Approved Translators

An approved translator is a person certified by a company, school, religious organization, government agency, Utah court, or is certified by the military and can provide military documentation. If you are interested in being an approved translator to translate foreign documents into English, you must:

Attend a certification program listed below.
Email your contact information to [email protected]. Once you're approved by the Driver License Division, your name will be added to the approved translator list within one week.
