Change address on commercial driver license (CDL)

What you need to know

    Update your address within 30 days of moving

    • Required by federal regulations for CDL holders
    • Must obtain a new license with the new address on it

    Required to visit DLD office

    • Online address change is NOT an option for CDL holders

    • Bring two documents showing proof of your new address to your appointment

    • Renew or replace based on expiration date

    Renew if your CDL expires in next 6 months
    • License will have new 5-year expiration date
    • Will have new address and/or name
