What you need to know
- Renew up to 6 months early before your ID card expires.
 - Under 21?
- Renewing before your 21st birthday keeps the minor label on your ID card
 - It will still be valid for 5 years.
 - An adult ID card can be issued on or after your 21st birthday.

Gather your documents - must bring to appointment
- Bring your current Utah ID card.
 - Has your address changed? If yes, bring two (2) documents providing proof of your Utah address. Or, update your address online before your appointment.
 - Has your name changed? If yes, bring proof of your new name.
 - Get details about acceptable documents here
 
At your appointment
- Have your confirmation number ready to check-in
 - Have photo taken
 - Show documents (if address or name has changed)
 - Pay non-refundable fee of $23
 - If under 16, have parent sign for you

When do I get my ID card?
- A temporary ID card with a photo will be issued on the same day.
 - The completed ID card with an 5-year expiration date will be mailed to you in approximately 6-8 weeks.
