When do I get my temporary license?

  • A temporary license with a photo will be issued on the same day if you pass all tests and meet all requirements
  • NOTE: You must be at least 16 to drive in Utah without a parent/guardian in the front passenger seat.

    After you get your temporary license

    • You must take a driving skills test to get your complete license
    • Take the test
      • at a DLD office (must schedule appointment)
      • or with a 3rd party tester
      • or through your driver education class
