Important: Meet all requirements before making your appointment!

  • If you haven't met them, you will not be able to test

Requirements for teen drivers under age 19:

  • Have Utah learner permit
  • Age 15-18 must have learner permit for at least 6 months and be 16 at the time of the driving skills test.
  • Pass the online Traffic Safety and Trends Exam
  • Complete a driver education course
  • Complete and log 40 hours of driving with a parent or guardian, including 10 hours after sunset

Requirements for new drivers age 19+

  • Have Utah learner permit
  • Complete driver education course OR
  • Hold learner permit for 90 days and prove you drove 40 hours (10 after dark)

Requirements if transferring license from another country:

  • Have Utah learner permit
